BANGKOK: The Minister of Social Development and Human Security, Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, inaugurated the Thailand Friendly Design Expo 2024, a prominent event aimed at highlighting advancements in technology, innovation, and design for the disabled and elderly. The Expo, now in its eighth year, features a variety of exhibits and products that promote accessibility and inclusivity, aligning with international guidelines on sustainable development.
According to Thai News Agency, the event also marks the opening of the 2nd Friendly Design Hotels, MICE, and Tourism for All International Conference (FTIC), which focuses on universal design and architecture. The Expo showcases an array of innovations in sectors such as automotive, home design, and daily living aids aimed at enhancing freedom and accessibility for individuals with disabilities and the elderly. The event also includes the sale of products crafted by these communities, alongside health-related products and services to advance convenience, safety, and
equality.
Mr. Varawut emphasized the continuous support from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, facilitated through the Fund for the Promotion and Development of the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities. This initiative underscores the commitment to reducing disparities and fostering a more inclusive society. The public is encouraged to visit the Expo at Hall 101, BITEC Bangna, open until December 15, 2024, to explore and support innovations and products designed to leave no one behind.
