Thailand Launches ‘Thailand Winter’ Campaign to Boost Tourism


Bangkok: Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra is set to inaugurate the ‘Thailand Winter’ campaign, aimed at revitalizing the country’s tourism sector. The initiative seeks to attract both domestic and international tourists, bolstering the economy as the year draws to a close.

According to Thai News Agency, Jirayu Huangsap, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that Prime Minister Shinawatra will preside over the campaign’s launch at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. The campaign is part of a broader government strategy to leverage Thailand’s cultural events and natural appeal to enhance tourism. The ‘Thailand Winter Festivals’ project is designed to position the nation as a premier global destination for festivals and tourism activities.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between governmental and private entities, focusing on promoting an array of events, including the Loi Krathong Festival, Yi Peng Festival, Christmas Festival, New Year’s Eve Festival, as well as various music, sports, and cul
inary events. These activities aim to showcase Thailand as an enticing destination during the festive season, drawing tourists worldwide. The government anticipates that the ‘Thailand Winter’ campaign will significantly energize the tourism sector, providing a substantial economic boost.
