Bangkok: Remembering 49 years since October 6, 1976, many politicians attended the event. Thammasat University held a merit-making ceremony and wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the 49th anniversary of October 6, 1976. Representatives of the Prime Minister, political party representatives, and activist groups attended the event in large numbers.
According to Thai News Agency, the morning ceremony commemorating the 49th anniversary of October 6, 1976, at Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan campus, organized by the Student Network and the Dome Ruam Jai Club, followed the alms-giving ceremony. A wreath-laying ceremony was held, with the Prime Minister appointing representatives to lay the wreath. Representatives from political parties, including Mr. Natthaphong Ruangpanyawat, leader of the Prachachon Party; Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul, deputy leader of the Prachachon Party; Dr. Sriyada Palimaphan, deputy secretary-general of the Pheu Thai Party; Mr. Chaturon Chaisang and Mr. Sutham Saengprathum, Pheu Thai Party list MPs; Ajarn Thida Thawornset, secretary-general of the NCPO 2010; Ms. Pannika Wanich and Mr. Chaithawat Tulathan, leaders of the Progressive Movement, were also present.
Following the morning’s activities, there will be activities organized by the Thammasat University Student Council and the Thammasat University Student Organization from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Thammasat History and the Struggle for Democracy Sculpture Garden, the Sri Burapha Auditorium, and the area next to the Thammasat University Auditorium.
