“Thanakorn” asks all parties to join in solving the flood crisis, giving the Prime Minister time to work

Thanakorn” asks all parties to stop playing politics, suggests cooperation to solve the flood crisis, alleviate the suffering of the people first. The Prime Minister and the government should be given time to work, but if real shortcomings are found, then follow the legal process.

Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, former Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, MP for the party list and deputy leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, said that currently, both Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces are still not over the flood crisis in many areas. In some areas, the water has receded but there is still thick mud. The ministers and related agencies have mobilized all their forces and equipment to help as much as possible. Everyone is working hard to alleviate the suffering of the people, such as General Nattapol Nakphanich, Deputy Minister of Defense, as an advisor to the Forward Command Center, who has gone down to monitor and resolve the situation on-site in Chiang Rai Province, where the situation is still s
evere. Meanwhile, some opposition parties are still trying to use the ineffectiveness of answering live questions in the parliament to attack the government. He thinks this is inappropriate. He asks all parties to reduce their rhetoric or to ease up on political games. In a situation where the people are suffering like this, he asks all parties to cooperate and help the victims first.

When asked about the political movement regarding the petition to the Constitutional Court, with the goal of dissolving the Pheu Thai Party and some people viewing it as a catalyst for another prime ministerial change, Thanakorn said that if any issue is truly wrong or against the law, it is up to the court’s discretion to decide, and he does not interfere, but he believes that the Constitutional Court judges will follow the legal process straightforwardly.

In addition, there are also dramas about finding fault with the Prime Minister regarding his use of an iPad and his various attire. I think society should focus on the main
issues of his work, problem-solving, and all the policies that he announced to the parliament. Can the government proceed with what he announced?

‘I personally think that the prime minister and the government should be given the opportunity and time to work and prove their skills to the people to see whether they have actually done what they promised and announced to the parliament. If there are any mistakes, they must be held accountable according to the process. All parties should encourage and give them opportunities, not just focus on finding fault and creating dramatic issues to attack each other. We should use the opportunity of the crisis to join hands to help the people so that they can overcome the hardships and suffering during this time,’ said Mr. Thanakorn.
