The Office of the Basic Education Commission is preparing to build a memorial at Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School to commemorate the victims of the school bus fire and is expediting the payment of compensation.

Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda, Secretary-General of the Basic Education Commission, revealed after the meeting of OBEC executives that he had informed the meeting of the order of the Minister of Education to the executives and personnel to proceed urgently, especially in the matter of providing assistance to the victims of the fire incident on the field trip bus, which has progressed as follows: requesting the award of the Order of the Crown of Thailand, Fifth Class, to the deceased teacher, requesting a 7-level salary increase, building a memorial to commemorate the victims, etc. OBEC will renovate the playground at Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School in Uthai Thani Province, which is currently in the design and budget allocation phase, contacting the heirs of the deceased teacher, who is currently workin
g abroad, regarding various assistance matters, and if they wish to enter government service, they will proceed according to the regulations. As for the compensation received under the Life Assurance Act, each person will receive 2,400,000 baht. As for the total amount donated to the fund to assist victims, it will be through the account ‘United in helping victims of the fire incident on the field trip bus at Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School.’ Uthai Thani Province” has a total of more than 2,500,000 baht (data as of October 9, 2024). When donations are closed, they will be distributed to the heirs of the deceased and the injured.

In the case of the death of a student teacher intern, Ms. Sarinya Homkasorn, it was reported that the university council had approved her degree as a special graduate because she had completed more than 70 percent of her teaching experience.

In addition, the National Scout Office has requested the 1st Class Commendation Medal for the three teachers who died. As for the injured who
are still being treated in the hospital, their conditions are being monitored continuously. They are also being provided with assistance and compensation according to their rights, including scholarships, physical and mental rehabilitation for students, teachers, and parents who have been affected.
