Lao PDR, Oct 8 – “Paetongtarn”, Prime Minister, is satisfied with the results of the first day of negotiations with the Lao PDR, which was a success on her first official foreign visit after Thailand and the Lao PDR joined hands to move forward on 5 main issues, assigning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to closely monitor the progress.
Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, gave an interview about her impression and the success of her visit to the Lao PDR, which was an official visit abroad after assuming the position of the 31st Prime Minister of Thailand, in which she was welcomed with honor and had discussions with important figures from the Lao PDR, including Mr. Sonxay Siphandon, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao PDR, and Mr. Saysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR.
The Thai-Lao PDR discussions agreed to move forward with proactive work on five main issues: (1) drugs, (2) call centers and online scams, (3) human traffic
king, (4) transboundary haze, and (5) water management in the Mekong River.
The missions have been distributed by having relevant agencies in each area set up working groups and hold continuous meetings. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been asked to help monitor progress in each area. This time is considered the first official visit to Laos as Prime Minister and he has attended the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits consecutively.-314.-Thai News Agency
