The Prime Minister sat at the head of the special cabinet meeting, asking everyone to take the royal advice as a guideline for working with determination, urging ministers to be ready to explain and answer questions, expanding on the government’s policies, preparing to consider proposing the appointment of permanent secretaries, emphasizing the continuation of the “Settha” government’s policies.
At 10:00 a.m., Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, chaired a special cabinet meeting to consider the government’s policy draft to be announced to the parliament on September 12-13.
The Prime Minister opened the meeting before entering the agenda, saying that today there are no orders, but there are 4 matters to ask the Cabinet. First, I would like to congratulate all the Cabinet members who have been graciously appointed as ministers. I would like everyone to take the royal advice given to us to heart, which is a great encouragement and a guideline for working with determination going forward.
The second
issue is to request the relevant ministers to prepare the appointment of permanent secretary-level civil servants to replace those who retire and have completed their four-year term in office, to be submitted to the Cabinet after the policy statement.
The third issue for the policy statement to the parliament is to ask all ministers to prepare to explain and answer questions on related policy issues, including helping to communicate and expand the policies in their areas of concern so that civil servants and the public can better understand the government’s policies.
The fourth issue is to continue the work of Mr. Settha Thavisin, former Prime Minister, especially in stimulating the economy, such as organizing activities to promote tourism, taking care of agricultural products, taking care of vulnerable groups, solving flood problems, and helping affected people, and accelerating government spending for investment.
