The Royal Irrigation Department is rushing to drain water from Kwan Phayao at a rate of 3 million cubic meters per day after Kwan Phayao exceeded its capacity, causing water to overflow and flood houses in the Phayao Municipality community over a wide area. The latest update is that the water level has continued to rise, with a volume of 70.589 million cubic meters out of a capacity of 55.650 million cubic meters, causing the water to flood houses of local residents.

It also affected the area above Kwan Phayao, where more than 20 villages, including many agricultural areas, were flooded. Meanwhile, the flood situation in houses in Dok Kham Tai Municipality has recently receded to normal.

Sukhothai prepares to receive water from Phrae.

vince, and his team traveled to the area along the banks of the Yom River after Wat Pak Kwae ordered strict control and reinforcement of sandbags on both sides of the Yom River, focusing on risky areas that may overflow along the Yom River in 4 lower districts: Sawankhalok District, Si Samrong District, Mueang District, and Kong Krailat District. The mass of water from Phrae Province flowing down will enter Sukhothai Province at the Y 14 water level measurement station of the Royal Irrigation Department in Si Satchanalai District at a volume of up to 1,450 cubic meters per second this evening (24 August) and is expected to flow into Mueang Sukhothai District at its peak at noon tomorrow (25 August).

For the Yom River bank wall, the province has inspected its strength and is ready to receive the water mass. The water situation must be assessed hour by hour and there is surveillance. In areas where the water is expected to overflow, sandbag embankments have been inspected and reinforced to create a line of def
ense along the entire length. Guards are also on duty 24 hours a day.
