The Royal Thai Army integrates royal volunteers to help with flood relief.


The Royal Thai Army integrates with the Royal Volunteer Command Center to help with flooding in the North and Northeast, sending volunteer engineers to mobilize for restoration and prepare for the mass of water flowing into the Central region.

General Pana Klaewplodtook, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, chaired the daily situation summary meeting of the Royal Thai Army Operations Center together with the Royal Thai Army’s subordinate units via online system. After listening to the report of the unit’s performance from the various departments of staff, the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army ordered the military units to continue their operations in all aspects, with an urgent focus on helping people affected by the floods, which have now expanded widely, and to integrate work with the Royal Volunteer Command Centers at both the regional and provincial levels to ensure that assistance to the people is widespread. In addition, in terms of recruiting soldiers via online system and preparing new
soldier training units, the units will continue to operate in order to be ready to accept soldiers in November.

After the daily summary meeting of the Army Operations Center, the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army chaired the meeting of the Royal Thai Army Volunteer Project Coordination Center, which integrates volunteer forces from all sectors through the provincial Royal Thai Volunteer Center and the regional Royal Thai Volunteer Center, with the mechanism of the Royal Thai Army Volunteer Project Coordination Center to monitor the situation and provide overall support. In the meeting, the 1st Army Area, the 3rd Army Area, and the Department of Military Engineering reported on the current situation of helping people and the action plan to cope with the water mass that has started to flow into the central region. As for the military units in the areas that have not been affected by the flood, they have prepared personnel and equipment ready to move in to provide support when requested. Most recently,
the Department of Military Engineering sent 162 engineering cadets and volunteers to support the rehabilitation of the area in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, who will be ready to perform their duties tomorrow.

Before closing the meeting, the Army Commander said that His Majesty the King had graciously bestowed encouragement through the Deputy Royal Secretary to all sectors that were helping people affected by disasters in all areas of the country, especially the northern and northeastern regions. His Majesty also said that if any agencies needed additional support, they could request it. He ordered the 2nd and 3rd Army Regions, as well as the 2nd and 3rd Regions Royal Volunteer Command Centers, to survey the necessary and appropriate needs to request additional support, by coordinating through the Royal Volunteer Command Center.
