The Royal Thai Army sends “Dr. Pak-Buakhao” to help the people of Chiang Rai.


The Royal Thai Army sends “Dr. Pak” to reinforce the medical unit and support personnel and equipment to help the people of Chiang Rai as much as possible. “Buakaw” joins in helping evacuate people.

General Jeronchai Hinthao, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, assigned Lt. Gen. Anupap Sirimondol, Director-General of the Royal Thai Army Civil Affairs Department, as the agency responsible for overseeing the Royal Thai Army’s disaster prevention and mitigation work, to be the representative to lead the team to monitor the flood situation and provide assistance to flood victims in Mae Sai and Mueang Districts, Chiang Rai Province, and listen to a briefing to plan the steps of the operation to ensure safety. The team mobilized personnel and equipment from subordinate units, such as the Department of Military Engineering, the Special Warfare Command, and the Army Aviation Center, as well as the Mengrai Maharat Camp Hospital, to support the Third Army Area, including FTS trucks, helicopters with rescue equ
ipment, rubber boats for water rescue, and medical supplies from Mengrai Maharat Camp Hospital. The team integrated with all sectors in the area to provide assistance to flood victims, including elderly people with diabetes, elderly people with gout and diabetes, as well as an 8-year-old girl living in house number 180/1, Village 7, Koh Sai, Soi 14, Mae Sai District, to bring them to a safe area. At the same time, consumer goods and medicine were distributed to flood victims in the area.

At 3:30 p.m., Lt. Col. Dr. Pak Loharchun, Chief Medical Officer of the Special Warfare Command, Lopburi Province, led medical personnel from the Special Warfare Command to help the people in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province.

By helping patients and autistic children who have been trapped in a house for 4 days, the current is still very strong. The operation must be handled minute by minute.

In addition, the Royal Thai Army has sent various military equipment to Chiang Rai Province, including 12 flat-bottomed boats fro
m the Department of Military Engineering, rubber rescue boats, search and rescue drones, in collaboration with the Army Aviation Center, which has arranged an MI-17 helicopter and air rescue equipment from the Special Warfare Command, as well as a special combat operation team with an air rescue platform and 8 special combat operation teams with rubber boats on water to prepare for the rising water situation due to various factors.

While ‘Buakaw’ Lt. Sombat Banchamek, assigned to the Reserve Force Center, Territorial Defense Command, Royal Thai Army, also joined the area to help evacuate people in risk areas.
