The Transport Company strictly inspects to accommodate people traveling during the long holiday from 12-14 October.


The Transport Company strictly inspects company buses and joint venture buses before they start service, increasing safety and preparing to facilitate people traveling during the long holiday from 12-14 Oct. It is expected that 80,000-90,000 people will return to their provinces per day, taking more than 7,000 bus trips per day.

Mr. Atthavit Rakjamroon, Director and Acting Managing Director of Transport Co., Ltd. (BKS), revealed that BKS has prepared for the safety of buses and facilitated travel during the King Naresuan the Great Day holiday, which is a 3-day long holiday from October 12-14, 2024. It is expected that there will be a large number of passengers traveling back to their provinces. BKS expects that there will be an average of 80,000-90,000 passengers traveling both outbound and return trips per day, using buses (BKS buses, joint buses, vans) with an average of 6,000-7,000 trips per day.

In this regard, the Maintenance Division, the Operation Division, the Transportation Promotion Division, and
the Accident Prevention Division, the Passenger Protection Division, have been assigned to bring officers and staff to inspect the condition of the BKS buses and joint-venture buses to prepare for the travel of passengers using the service and to prepare the buses before providing services to the public for safety and confidence in traveling as follows:

1. On 7 October 2024, inspect the buses of the Transport Company Limited and joint venture buses at the Bangkok Passenger Transport Station (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2.

2. On 10 October 2024, inspect the buses of the Transport Company Limited and joint venture buses at the

Borommaratchachonnani Passenger Transport Station (New Southern Line).

3. On 11 October 2024, inspect the buses of the Transport Company Limited and joint venture buses at the Mo Chit 2 Passenger Transport Station.

Mr. Atthavit continued that for the inspection of the bus, the focus will be on inspecting the accessories and safety equipment inside the bus, such as tires, seat belts, fire e
xtinguishers, hammers to break windows, and emergency exits, to ensure that they are ready for use. In the event of an emergency, they can be used immediately. At the same time, if a bus is found to have defective accessories that do not meet the standards and operating conditions, the bus will be notified to fix them before returning them to provide service to passengers.

In addition, a pamphlet manual has been distributed to drivers and service staff (waiters) regarding knowledge, prevention, and risk reduction of road accidents, proactive prevention, and relief when disasters occur. It includes steps on how to use a fire extinguisher, how to use a hammer to break glass, and emergency exits. Service staff have also been instructed to publicize and advise passengers on safety information while using public transportation.
