“Thirat-Gen. Nattapol” go to Mae Taeng to monitor flooding and help victims


Thirat-Gen. Nattapol” went to Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province to urgently help people, tourists, and 9 more elephants that were stranded due to flash floods in the area.

Flood Relief Center, Kuet Chang Subdistrict, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, Ms. Thirat Rattanawanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, and General Nattapol Nakphanit, Deputy Minister of Defense, visited the area to listen to the problems and find ways to help the people, tourists, and 126 elephants, of which 117 have been moved to higher ground, leaving 9 elephants still affected by the floods.

From the flood situation in Kuet Chang Subdistrict, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, which caused flooding in the Elephant Care Center area, Mrs. Saengduean Chailert, Director of the Center in Kuet Chang Subdistrict, reported the situation that the continuous heavy rain caused flash floods to flood the area of ??Ban Mae Taman and the Elephant Care Center, causing the animals under their care to suffer. The two Deputy Ministers
have coordinated with relevant agencies to urgently provide assistance as soon as possible.

In this regard, soldiers, police, and volunteers have been contacted to bring flat-bottomed boats to help people, tourists, and elephants by tying them to higher ground first, fearing that if the water level rises any higher, the elephants may become stressed.
