When the police arrived, the man tried to attack with a machete. The officers with cameras then ordered the man to stop, but to no avail. Instead, he held a weapon and chased after the man in blue, who was his father, in front of the house. The officers had to shoot to stop the incident and ran and shouted at the man in a state of frenzy to stop chasing after the man in blue and threatening him with a gun, a total of 3 shots. Finally, the man in a frenzy gave up the machete and allowed the police to arrest him.

Panya Mongkhonkan, Superintendent of Thai Charoen Police Station, who said that the incident occurred at approximately 12:00 noon on August 10 after receiving a report from 191. Thai Charoen Police Station sent four officers to quell the incident. When they arrived, the officers got out of the car and a crazed man, identified as Mr. Sakda, 33, who was sitting in front of the house, ran out holding a machete to attack the police officers. The man decided to fire a warning shot at the ground, causing the perpetrator to stop for a moment. The perpetrator then chased
after his real father with a machete because he thought his father had called the police. The officers had to chase after him to help him, shouting at him to stop, and fired two more warning shots until the man dropped the machete. The officers took him to Thai Charoen Hospital for psychiatric treatment.
For the history of this crazy man, it is known that he has had mental illness since 2020 and was treated at Phra Sri Maha Pho Hospital. Later, in 2019, he began to have auditory hallucinations and was suspicious that someone was going to hurt him. The police had already taken him to Yasothon Hospital for treatment once.
However, I think that this incident was not excessive because the perpetrator ran in with a machete and tried to harm. As for the shooting to intimidate and stop the incident without expecting any harm to life, the officers shot at the ground and not at the perpetrator.
