Surapong” urges the Transport Company to arrange enough buses to accommodate people traveling during the long holiday, along with strictly enforcing safety measures to ensure safe travel without accidents. It was revealed that the number of people traveling yesterday (11 Oct 67) was over 100,000 people.
Mr. Surapong Piyachote, Deputy Minister of Transport, revealed that he has urged the Transport Company Limited (BKS) to arrange sufficient buses to accommodate people traveling back to their hometowns and traveling during the long holiday of King Naresuan the Great Day, 12-14 October 2024, and to strictly enforce safety measures for buses and drivers of company buses and joint-venture buses to ensure that users reach their destinations safely and without accidents on the road.
Mr. Atthavit Rakjamroon, acting director and managing director of the Transport Company, said that the travel figures for the long holiday yesterday (11 October 2014) showed that there were 103,243 passengers traveling both outbound a
nd return trips, which was 90,000 more than the original estimate or 13,243 more than the estimate because many passengers traveled on long-distance routes (long routes) using 6,583 buses (Transport Company buses, joint buses, vans) to facilitate people traveling smoothly. There were enough buses and no passengers were left behind.
As for today (12 Oct 2024), the atmosphere of using services at the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2 still has people traveling continuously. Most will use the short route (short line). It is expected that there will be approximately 89,000 passengers traveling both ways, using buses (BKS buses, joint buses, vans) approximately 6,500 trips.
However, the Transport Company still emphasizes travel safety by emphasizing the readiness of buses, accessories and safety equipment inside buses such as tires, seat belts, fire extinguishers, glass-breaking hammers and emergency exits must be ready for use before being taken out to provide service to passengers. As for bus drive
rs, they must be ready, have enough rest, and have zero alcohol and drug use. In the case of a distance exceeding 400 kilometers, two drivers must be provided to take turns driving, follow traffic laws and strictly follow the conditions of the bus.
