Truck Driver Attacks Car with Baseball Bat in Violent Road Rage Incident

Bangkok: A heated confrontation between a truck driver and a car driver led to a violent episode of road rage, captured on dashcam footage. The altercation, which took place on September 23rd, involved the truck driver aggressively pursuing and attacking the other vehicle, causing significant damage.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident began when the truck driver cut off another car before hitting it with a baseball bat and kicking it, resulting in the side mirror being torn off. Dashcam footage recorded at 11:53 a.m. shows the truck chasing the car, eventually blocking its path. The truck driver, armed with a bat, exited his vehicle and attempted to open the car door several times. The car driver, trapped inside, raised his hands in a gesture of submission. Despite this, the truck driver struck the car’s side mirror with the bat and kicked it twice, dislodging the mirror, before returning to his truck and driving away.

The release of the video sparked widespread outrage, with many viewers condemning the violent behavior and urging authorities to take swift legal action against those involved.

Mr. Thanongsak, 40, who owns the dashcam that captured the incident, recounted the events. He explained that he was driving from Borommaratchachonnani Road to Bang Yai when he saw a speeding car followed closely by a six-wheel truck. The truck driver attempted to overtake the car at an intersection near Wat Sri Prawat. When the car was unable to advance, the violent confrontation ensued. Mr. Thanongsak described the incident as an act of road rage and emphasized the importance of staying calm and cautious while driving.
