‘Uncle Pom’ keeps his face straight at the PPRP meeting.

“Uncle Pom” keeps his cool at the Palang Pracharath Party meeting. “Paiboon” reveals that he has sent a lawyer to file a criminal lawsuit for wiretapping, indicating that it is an offense against the state according to the 2006 coup order. He insists that he is acting according to his own rights and that no one has ordered him to do so.

Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, traveled to the Palang Pracharath Party office to hold a meeting of the party’s executive committee and MPs. Gen Prawit had a calm expression and did not greet the media.

Mr. Paiboon Nititawan, the party secretary, revealed that at noon today he had assigned a lawyer to file a complaint against Mr. Danai Ekmahaeksawat, or Old Dog, the host of the program ‘Inside Thailand’ and the acting director-general of MCOT and MCOT Public Company Limited, in the wiretapping case. The complaint was filed at the police station.

As for filing a criminal lawsuit for defamation and a civil lawsuit for 50 million baht in damages,
it is a duty according to the rights that exist. As for Mr. Danai, whatever it is, it is up to him. Currently, the filing of the defamation lawsuit and the civil damages lawsuit is in the process of drafting the lawsuit. It is expected to be completed next week.

When the reporter asked if the wiretapping had been investigated to see who was responsible, Mr. Paiboon said to ask Mr. Danai. He was investigating who was responsible. After a quick look, he knew.

Reporters asked whether filing a lawsuit would be beneficial in the court to have a call to investigate how the audio clip was obtained. Mr. Paiboon said no. The case was about wiretapping. It was the announcement of the National Reform Council under the Democratic Regime with the King as Head of State No. 21 of 2006, which stated that it was an offense against the state. They would have to file a complaint with the investigator. The current government had not yet revoked this order. It was still in effect. Therefore, they asked to wait and follow up on
all three cases: the criminal case, the use of wiretapping clips, the defamation case, and the civil case.

‘I have filed three lawsuits: 1. a criminal case for wiretapping, 2. a criminal case for defamation causing damage to reputation, and 3. a civil case for 50 million baht in damages. I have had my lawyer file a complaint against Mr. Danai and the acting director-general of MCOT, as well as MCOT Company,’ said Mr. Paiboon.

As for this lawsuit, was it an order from a senior or was it filed on his own? Mr. Paiboon confirmed that he took action on his own, exercising his rights according to the justice process.
