Urgent hunt for “Santi”, former boxer, expected to be caught soon

Police are hunting for “Santi”, a former boxer, after the court issued an arrest warrant on four serious charges in a case in which he used a gun to clear the way for a doctor to be taken hostage in a house in the Inthamara area before escaping. Meanwhile, Mr. Santi’s wife is concerned for her husband’s safety and has asked him to turn himself in.

Last night, Pol. Col. Atthaphon Anusit, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, traveled to attend a follow-up meeting on the case of Mr. Santi, age 39, a former boxer who held a doctor hostage at his house in Inthamara 29, Alley 1 on the night of October 3rd at Bang Sue Police Station again. He did not spend much time there before quickly leaving the station without giving any interviews to the media.

However, earlier, since noon, Pol. Col. Atthaphon had a meeting of the investigation team to urgently track down Mr. Santi to prosecute. Initially, the investigators collected evidence and requested the court to approve an arrest warrant for Mr. Santi in the c
ase since October 4, with a total of 4 serious charges: attempted murder of an officer, obstructing an officer, carrying a firearm in a public place, and trespassing at night. Mr. Santi originally had an arrest warrant for theft in the area of ??Tao Poon Police Station. The commander of the Nakhon Sawan Police Division 2 ordered the officers to urgently track down Mr. Santi as soon as possible and to use caution in making the arrest, as the suspect is armed with a gun and has previously fought with police officers. It is expected that he will be apprehended soon.

As for the prosecution of Ms. Pachanee, Mr. Santi’s wife, who threatened the police and used a gun to hold her own neck and get into an officer’s car before getting out of the car to escape, and was arrested in Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, the investigation officer of Bang Sue Police Station took Ms. Pachanee to the Ratchada Criminal Court yesterday to request the first detention order on 4 charges: carrying a gun in public
without permission, possessing a gun without permission, possessing narcotics, and illegally detaining an officer. At the end of the request, she objected to bail because she was afraid that she would flee and the case carries a high penalty. Ms. Pachanee looked stressed and wore a hospital gown from being sent to treat a foot wound earlier. While being taken into the prisoner’s car, she apologized to the officers who she threatened with a gun and asked Mr. Santi, her husband, to surrender to the police for his safety.

Pol. Col. Noppasin Poolsawat, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, provided additional information that from questioning Ms. Pajanee, the suspect, she confessed to committing the crime. Before the incident, she had taken drugs the day before. She had traveled from another province to see Mr. Santi. However, when she found out that Mr. Santi was being prosecuted for theft and evading an arrest warrant, she stayed in various rented rooms. On the day of the incident, the suspect
came to see her husband, but there were many police officers and reporters at her husband’s house. She was stressed, so she decided to commit the crime. Initially, orders were given to the Metropolitan Police Investigation Unit, the Metropolitan Police Investigation Unit 2, and the Bang Sue Police Station Investigation Unit to urgently pursue Mr. Santi. It is expected that this will take some time.

There are reports from the investigation team in tracking down Mr. Santi after he escaped the police cordon amid suspicion. It was found that after the incident, he left the area and hid in the Lat Phrao area, where Mr. Santi knew many people and was the last place the police got a clue. However, the investigation team has expanded the investigation beyond Bangkok because Mr. Santi also has acquaintances in other provinces.
