Urges the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to cope with the Chao Phraya Dam’s water mass, orders 6 central provinces to open temporary shelters


Warawut” urges the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security team to cope with the mass of water from the Chao Phraya Dam, ordering 6 central provinces: Suphan Buri, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Chai Nat, Samut Prakan, Bangkok to open temporary shelters, emphasizing that the 1300 hotline is available 24 hours a day.

Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), revealed that the water situation in the middle of the day today, the amount of water released by the Chao Phraya Dam is at 1,994 cubic meters per second and will soon be released up to approximately 2,000, not exceeding 2,400 cubic meters per second. The maximum capacity of the Chao Phraya River is approximately 2,700, not exceeding 3,000 cubic meters per second, indicating that today, the water released from the Chao Phraya Dam will definitely affect both sides of the Chao Phraya. In addition, to the west and east of the Chao Phraya River, entering through the Tha Chin River or going to the Noi River, the
amount of water attempting to be diverted to the western and eastern fields has increased by approximately 400 cubic meters per second on each side.

Mr. Varawut said that the amount of water flowing down to the Central Plains will increase significantly. The people will definitely be affected. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has prepared the area, along with relief bags, and a team of officials from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security who will go in to provide assistance, talk to the people, and prepare the area of ??the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to be a temporary shelter to support the victims in 6 central provinces, totaling 17 locations as follows:

Samut Prakan Province, 3 locations: 1) Samut Prakan Homeless Protection Center, 2) Phra Pradaeng Center for the Development of Potential and Vocational Training for the Disabled, and 3) Phra Pradaeng Disabled Shelter.
