Vietnam and Cuba Bolster Security Cooperation with High-Level Meetings


Havana: A high-level delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, led by Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, conducted a working visit to Cuba from October 22 to 26. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral security cooperation between the two countries. During discussions with Lieutenant General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, Cuba’s Minister of the Interior, both parties evaluated the progress of a cooperation agreement between their ministries that was established in 2018.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meetings also served as an opportunity for the two countries to review recent collaborative efforts between their respective security agencies. The visit underscores a continued commitment to enhancing the strategic partnership in security matters.

While in Cuba, the Vietnamese delegation paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh by laying flowers at his monument located in the park named after him in Havana. This gesture highlighted the historical ties and enduring friendship
between Vietnam and Cuba.
