Hanoi: The Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations (VDPO) has launched a new training initiative in collaboration with the French Defence Attaché Office in Vietnam. The program, which began on October 24, focuses on preparing over 30 officers of the Vietnam People’s Army for United Nations peacekeeping missions scheduled for 2024.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the training course spans from October 24 to November 7 and is designed to impart essential skills for operating four-wheel-drive off-road vehicles. The curriculum covers driving techniques, vehicle towing, maintenance, and service procedures. Instruction is being provided by seasoned French military officers and experts from the European Union, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive guidance in handling these specialized vehicles.
This cooperative effort marks a significant step in the ongoing peacekeeping partnership between Vietnam and France. It underscores both nations’ commitment to enhancing their contributions to internatio
nal peacekeeping efforts.
