Vietnam and Laos Sign Security Agreements to Bolster Cooperation


Hanoi—In a move to strengthen bilateral relations, the Ministries of Public Security from Vietnam and Laos convened on October 14 for a ministerial meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in crime prevention, social order maintenance, and drug control.



According to Vietnam News Agency, during the meeting, representatives from both nations signed a crucial agreement on crime prevention and ensuring social order, along with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on drug control cooperation. These agreements aim to bolster the collaborative efforts between the two countries in addressing various security challenges.



The agreements are part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety and combat cross-border criminal activities, including drug trafficking. The enhanced cooperation is expected to lead to more effective enforcement actions and a safer environment in both nations, reflecting their commitment to mutual support and security partnership.
