Vietnam Participates in the 6th ICAPP Media Forum in Seoul

Seoul – The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) joined over 30 delegations from political parties and media agencies of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Standing Committee member countries at its 6th Media Forum in Seoul, Republic of Korea, on November 18. This event marks a significant platform for dialogue and cooperation among Asian political entities and media organizations.

According to Vietnam News Agency, in his opening remarks, Kang Hoon-sik, Co-chairman of the Forum, highlighted the increasing interaction between the ICAPP and the public in the region through diverse and widespread media coverage of the ICAPP’s activities. This growing engagement is pivotal in enhancing regional understanding and collaboration.

At the forum, the CPV delegation outlined Vietnam’s aspirations for the ICAPP, particularly the ICAPP Media Forum, to continue serving as a mechanism for member parties to discuss and share strategies. The focus areas included promoting digital transformation, effectively utilizing social networks, improving internet access and digital skills for people, and fostering the promotion of countries’ images.

As a member of the ICAPP Standing Committee, the CPV expressed its intent to strengthen cooperation in popularizing the ICAPP’s activities in Vietnam across various media platforms and among all segments of the Vietnamese population. Additionally, the CPV aims to coordinate closely with the ICAPP Secretariat to further disseminate information about ICAPP activities on international and regional media.

The forum participants approved two significant initiatives: the establishment of the ICAPP Media Network with expanded participation from all political parties and media agencies in the region, and the quarterly publication of the ICAPP Newsletter to keep members updated on ICAPP activities.

The CPV delegation actively contributed to discussions on the Forum’s action program and held meetings with representatives of several political parties to explore future cooperation measures.

Established in September 2000 in Manila, Philippines, the ICAPP is the largest dialogue forum of over 350 political parties in Asia. The ICAPP Media Forum, initiated in September 2015, aims to foster cooperation between political parties and the media, contributing to the realization of ICAPP’s vision of building a peaceful, stable, harmonious, and prosperous community in Asia.
