Vietnam Participates in UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th Session in Paris


PARIS: Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc, who is also the Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, led a distinguished Vietnamese delegation to the 220th session of the UNESCO Executive Board held from October 14-16 in Paris. The session witnessed active participation from representatives of 58 member countries and over 100 observer countries, underscoring the global interest in UNESCO’s initiatives.

According to Vietnam News Agency, during the event, Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc engaged in a series of high-level discussions with UNESCO General Director Audrey Azoulay and other notable UNESCO officials. These interactions were aimed at enhancing both bilateral and multilateral ties, reflecting Vietnam’s commitment to international cooperation in education, science, and culture. Furthermore, the Vietnamese delegation held separate meetings with heads of delegations from various countries, signaling Vietnam’s proactive approach to fostering collaborative partnerships withi
n the UNESCO framework.

The meetings provided a platform for Vietnam to highlight its contributions to UNESCO’s objectives and its ongoing efforts to integrate international standards into its national policies. Vietnam’s participation in the session also demonstrated its dedication to supporting UNESCO’s mission in promoting peace and security through international collaboration in its designated fields of expertise.
