HANOI: Vietnam has been recognized as one of the top 20 countries favored by global travelers in 2024, according to the esteemed US travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler. The country was ranked 15th on the list, scoring 89 out of 100 points in a survey that included responses from over 575,000 readers of the New York-based publication. The survey evaluated various travel experiences across cities, islands, hotels, resorts, cruise ships, spas, and airlines, highlighting Vietnam’s cultural diversity as a key attraction.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the Southeast Asian nation experienced a significant increase in international tourism, welcoming 12.7 million foreign visitors in the first nine months of 2024. This figure reflects a 43% year-on-year growth, demonstrating Vietnam’s rising appeal as a travel destination. In comparison, the country hosted 12.6 million international tourists throughout the entirety of the previous year.
The recognition by Condé Nast Traveler is expected to further boost Vietnam’s
tourism sector, as the country continues to develop its infrastructure and offerings to accommodate the growing number of visitors. The impressive growth in tourist numbers underscores the effectiveness of Vietnam’s efforts to enhance its global standing as a preferred travel destination.
