Vietnamese Community in Israel Remains Safe Amidst Conflict

Da Nang – The Vietnamese community in Israel remains safe more than one month after conflicts broke out in the country, as reported in an online meeting held on November 11. The meeting connected Vietnamese citizens living in Israel with media agencies in Vietnam.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Ambassador Ly Duc Trung informed that the Vietnamese community in Israel comprises about 500 long-term residents and around 200 individuals working or studying on short-term bases. He stated that while the current situation is stable, there is a need for contingency plans in case the conflict escalates uncontrollably.

As foreign airlines have ceased operations in Israel, one plan being prepared by the embassy includes assisting Vietnamese people to evacuate via road across the Jordan border to safer areas. Ensuring uninterrupted information connection has been a priority for the embassy since the onset of the conflict.

Hong Shurany from the Liaison Board of the Vietnamese Association in Israel noted that since the conflict’s outbreak, the association has formed groups on social networks to update on the situation, offer mutual support, and maintain constant contact with the embassy for guidance and policies related to citizen protection.
