Vietnamese Leader Visits Con Co Island, Honors National Heroes and Supports Local Community


Quang tri: Party General Secretary and State President To Lam recently visited Con Co island district in the central province of Quang Tri, engaging with local officials, soldiers, and residents on October 16. The visit included a ceremonial tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and the island’s martyrs, coupled with the presentation of gifts and medical equipment to the local community.

According to Vietnam News Agency, during his visit, To Lam, accompanied by an entourage, paid homage to the late President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs by offering incense and flowers at both the memorial house and monument dedicated to them on the island. This act of remembrance highlights the ongoing respect and veneration for the national heroes who played pivotal roles in the country’s history.

In addition to the ceremonial activities, To Lam demonstrated his commitment to supporting the local community of Con Co island. He distributed gifts to families, which is a traditional gesture of goodwill and support by Vietnamese
leaders during provincial visits. Furthermore, he provided a range of medical equipment to the island district’s authorities, aimed at improving health care services for the residents.
