Vientiane: Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam, Tran Thanh Man, held discussions with Prime Minister of Laos, Sonexay Siphandone, during his official visit to the Lao capital on October 17.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting between the two leaders took place in the context of Tran Thanh Man’s trip to Vientiane, which is scheduled from October 17-19. The visit primarily focuses on his participation in the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45). This event gathers legislators from Southeast Asian countries to enhance regional legislative cooperation. The visit by the NA Chairman is in response to an invitation from Saysomphone Phomvihane, President of the Lao NA and Chair of AIPA-45.
The discussions aimed to further strengthen the legislative ties between Vietnam and Laos, fostering greater cooperation in various sectors. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss issues of mutual interest and regional importance, reflectin
g the long-standing relationship between the two neighboring countries.
