HANOI—Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, a major telecommunications provider, has announced it will launch its 5G network across Vietnam’s 63 provinces this month. The initiative is set to significantly enhance nationwide connectivity and marks a major step in the country’s digital infrastructure development.
According to Vietnam News Agency, alongside the 5G rollout, Viettel plans to develop 24 data centers with a combined capacity of 560 megawatts and establish four new undersea fiber optic cable routes. These expansions are projected to satisfy 60% of Vietnam’s international connectivity demands by 2030, positioning Viettel as a key player in boosting the nation’s technological capabilities and global connectivity.
This strategic expansion underscores Viettel’s commitment to advancing Vietnam’s digital landscape and supporting the growing demand for high-speed internet and robust digital services across the country.
