“View Kulwut” arrives in Thailand, receives first lump sum of 7.2 million baht


Suvarnabhumi Airport, ‘View Kulwut’, the young badminton hero who won the silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games, received his first prize of 7.2 million baht and revealed that he now wants to eat shabu-buffet to gain energy.

“View” Kunlavut Vitidsarn, a young badminton player of the Thai national team who made history as the first Thai badminton player to win an Olympic medal by winning a silver medal in the men’s singles category, the first medal for the Thai athletes in the Paris Games, along with “May” Ratchanok Intanon, “May Sai” Supanida Ketthong, and “Coach Pae” Phattaphon Ngernsrisuk, along with the Thai national athletes and coaches, including badminton, track and field, and shooting, returned to Thailand this morning at Suvarnabhumi Airport on flight TG931 after participating in the 33rd Olympic Games “Paris Games 2024” in France. Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Minister of Tourism and Sports, along with executives from the Sports Authority of Thailand welcomed them.

In the welcoming atmosphere, in addit
ion to the sports industry adults and Thai sports fans, there were also ‘Mae Puk’ Mrs. Kamala Thongkorn, the founder of Baan Thong Yod Badminton School, View’s employer, father Nattawat and mother Natkanok, including Nong Som Saranrak, View’s younger sister, representatives from private companies that supported her who came to warmly welcome her in a lively atmosphere with a long drum procession and welcoming activities amidst the army of media who came to closely follow the news. In the welcoming ceremony this morning, Mr. Sermsak gave the first prize of 7.2 million baht to View, and there were also many sponsors from both the public and private sectors waiting to reward her success this time. As for the athletes who did not receive a medal, they will receive a consolation prize of 100,000 baht each.

“View Kulwut” revealed that he is preparing to present an Olympic medal to His Majesty the King on the occasion of his 72nd birthday. The first goal was to gain experience, but instead, he received a medal, whi
ch is considered a valuable life profit. However, in the next four years, he intends to get a gold medal because after winning the world championship, he has two dreams that have not yet been fulfilled: an Olympic gold medal and an All England championship. From now on, he will rest fully and eat shabu or barbecue buffet before preparing to compete in the Japan Open at the end of this month.

Father Nattawat, Mother Natkanok and “Nong Som” Saranrak Wititsan, who had been waiting to welcome her since 5:30 a.m., brought flowers to give to View and hugged and kissed her cheek on stage. Mother said that she was very happy and proud of the results and would continue to encourage View to make her dream come true.

Later, at 12:00 noon, “View” Kunlavut Vitidsarn met with the Prime Minister at Government House. The Prime Minister also said that “View” has one thing in common with himself: they are both die-hard “Liverpool” fans.
