“Warawut” checks water levels entering and leaving Suphan Buri, ready to receive water from the north

Warawut’ stormed the Pho Phraya, Don Tan, Bang Pla Ma police stations to inspect the water levels entering and leaving Suphan Buri and prepare to receive water from the north.

Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security and leader of the Chartthaipattana Party, along with Mr. Nattawut Prasert-suwan, Member of Parliament for Suphan Buri Province, Constituency 2, Mr. Sorachat Sujit, Member of Parliament for Suphan Buri Province, Constituency 1, Chartthaipattana Party, and Mr. Natthaphat Suwanprateep, Governor of Suphan Buri Province, traveled to the Pho Phraya Water Supply and Maintenance Project, Office of Irrigation No. 12, Royal Irrigation Department, to listen to a briefing on the water situation.

Overall picture of Suphan Buri Province, Thung Pho Phraya and the water situation in Bang Pla Ma area, various canals, with Mr. Watchara Kraisai, Director of the 12th Regional Irrigation Office and Mr. Wichai Phanprasert, Director of the Water Management and Maintenance Division,
12th Regional Irrigation Office, Mr. Olan Thongson, Director of the Suphan Buri Irrigation Project (Suphan Buri Irrigation Project), and Mr. Thamnoon Bamrungphet, Pho Phraya Irrigation and Maintenance Project (Pho Phraya Irrigation Project) as reporters.

However, Mr. Warawut and his team went to inspect the water level at the water barriers, including the main drainage canal, Khlong Suphan 3, right bank, Don Tan Subdistrict, Mueang Suphan Buri District, Don Tan Water Gate and Bang Pla Ma Water Gate Pumping Station.

Mr. Warawut said that he and the MPs of Suphan Buri came to inspect the water situation and canals in the province to see how to prepare for flooding in the lower part of Suphan Buri, which is the area that receives water every year. Therefore, if anyone says that Suphan Buri does not flood, ask the MPs of Suphan Buri that it floods every year and floods for months. We have to look at the water situation to prevent it so that the flooding situation every year will be less. It is not that it does
not flood, but it floods less and the flooding period will be shorter because in the end, the huge amount of water in the north will gradually flow down to the lower part. Suphan Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom are areas that receive water from the north all the time. Therefore, taking care of the people in the lower part to receive the least amount of flooding, which I would like to thank the MPs and provincial administrative organizations who brought the information to inform the executive branch to discuss with the relevant agencies and the cabinet.

Mr. Warawut said that this year, we, the people of Suphan Buri Province, must thank the Royal Irrigation Department for managing the water gradually because it did not open it suddenly. Otherwise, when the water level of the Chao Phraya Dam rises, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Ang Thong Provinces will be the provinces that are greatly affected.

This year, the water has been delayed and the water has been sl
owed down more. The management is to gradually drain it down to the lower part and finally into the Gulf of Thailand. But what is worrying is the month of October because the seawater is at its highest and if there is a storm from the monsoon trough from the southwest, it will be an additional burden on the western side of the Chao Phraya River basin, which will make it difficult to drain water into the Gulf of Thailand. When the Royal Irrigation Department drains water gradually, the water in the north will decrease significantly. When the water is delayed, there will be no flooding like in previous years when the water was stagnant for a long time, so the drainage will be accelerated as soon as possible.
