“Warawut” confirms full compensation for the fire incident on the school tour bus

“Warawut” regrets the fire incident on a school bus that resulted in multiple deaths and injuries, confirms that full compensation and assistance will be provided.

Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), mentioned the incident of a school field trip bus in Uthai Thani Province, which caught fire and caused many injuries and deaths. First of all, he would like to express his condolences to the families of the victims in the incident. At present, it is still uncertain whether any adults died. The MSDHS has sent a multidisciplinary team, including social workers and psychologists, to the scene of the incident. They are currently investigating which hospitals the injured are in.

However, I will not talk about compensation measures because no matter how much money is spent, it will not be able to bring back the deceased. In particular, what I am most sorry about is the incident that happened to the kindergarten children who were in the accident this time. These childr
en are the future of Thailand. I always emphasize that taking care of these children must be done to the fullest extent, no matter which agency it is. What we need to do now is to heal the minds of those who are still alive, especially the parents of the deceased children. In addition, in the case where the Prime Minister was in tears, I understand the feelings of parents, how would they feel if their child died in front of them?

In this regard, I have asked the local officials of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security in Uthai Thani Province or nearby provinces to mobilize all forces to inspect the homes of the families of the deceased or injured to determine where they are. Once we know the details, we will quickly go in to provide mental support.
