“Wilinkorn-Weeraphat” won 2nd place in the Thailand Open Junior Bowling


Wilingkorn Klaikaew was the runner-up in the U21 Youth category in the Toikaen Waterworks Authority of Thailand International Open 2024, while ‘Andrew’ Weeraphat Andrew Wong missed by just 10 pins and was the runner-up in the U18 Youth category.

The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority Thailand International Open 2024 bowling competition, which was held between 22 July – 3 August 2024 at Blu-O Rhythm and Bowl Ratchayothin, was recently the final round of the youth category under 13 years old, youth under 15 years old, youth under 18 years old, and youth under 21 years old.

For the results of the competition, the youth under 21 years old competed in 8 games. The results showed that Wilingkorn Klaikaew threw and scored 1,825 points, receiving 2nd place with 28,000 baht in prize money. The champion of this category was Andre Chiu (Singapore) with 1,846 points and received 55,000 baht in prize money. Third place was Jalen Lo (Singapore) with 1,781 points and received 14,000 baht in prize money. As for the results
of other Thai athletes, 5th place was Ramita Sarathong with 1,686 points, 6th place was Nattawat Rasisettakul with 1,678 points, 11th place was Phakphon Kulkarinitam with 1,590 points, and 15th place was Suphakorn Khunwat with 1,520 points.

In the under-18 category, the final round consisted of 8 games. The champion was Singaporean bowler Jalen Lo, who scored 1,896 points and received 45,000 baht in prize money. Second place went to Thai youth bowler ‘Andrew’ Weeraphat Andrew Wong, who scored 1,886 points, losing to first place by only 10 pins and receiving 23,000 baht in prize money. Third place went to Xavier Ng from Singapore, who received 12,000 baht in prize money. As for the performance of other Thai athletes, sixth place was Sasitha Kaewklom with 1,771 points, 12th place was Pitchakon Sallakachat with 1,668 points, 14th place was Suphakorn Khunwat with 1,613 points, and 15th place was Ratthaphon Maliwan with 1,567 points.

Youth under 15 years old competed in 6 games in total. 1st place Brandon Haruki
Tam (Macau) 1,335 points received prize money 25,000 baht, 2nd place Xavier Ng (Singapore) 1,289 points received prize money 13,000 baht, 3rd place Rachel Fu (Singapore) 1,283 points received prize money 7,000 baht. As for the results of the Thai athletes, 10th place Khajonrat Chanchai 1,130 points, 11th place Nattawat Mangmee 1,056 points, and 12th place Suphanphim Roiphueng 830 points.

Youth under 13 years old competed in a total of 6 games. 1st place Leighton Kua Rui Jia (Singapore) 1,388 points, received prize money 25,000 baht, 2nd place Isser To Che Lei (Singapore) 1,344 points, received prize money 13,000 baht, 3rd place Nguyen Tan Hong (Vietnam) 1,299 points, received prize money 7,000 baht. As for the results of the Thai athletes, 6th place Kittinart Phoiphumyen scored 1,153 points and 8th place Jirapach Sallakachad 932 points.

For the competition program between 28-29 July, there will be a qualifying round to find athletes to enter the Grade A, Grade B and Senior finals on 30 July. Then, between 3
1 July – 2 August, there will be a qualifying round for the Grade Open category, and the final round for the Open category will be held on 3 August at Blu-O Rhythm and Bowl Ratchayothin.
