Jakarta – XL Axiata, a leading converged operator in Indonesia, in collaboration with global ICT provider Huawei, has initiated the first commercial use of a Network Digital Map in the Asia-Pacific region. This development marks a significant milestone in network technology, particularly in the field of green hydrogen production.
According to Antara News Agency, the Network Digital Map is based on end-to-end (E2E) SRv6 network architecture and software-defined networking (SDN) automation technology. This innovative approach is set to enhance XL Axiata’s digital foundation for autonomous networks, offering traffic optimization, automatic load balancing, and improved bandwidth efficiency. Notably, the technology is expected to significantly improve the 4G/5G user experience and bolster XL Axiata’s convergence business consumer segment.
XL Axiata’s Chief Technology Officer, I Gede Darmayusa, emphasized the company’s commitment to network convergence, digitalization, automation, and a customer-centric approach as fundamental to its digital transformation journey. The collaboration with Huawei aims to build a unified network infrastructure for mobile, enterprise, and home services.
Huawei’s Network Digital Map, integrated into its iMaster NCE platform, supports XL Axiata in customizing requirements from various industries. The technology enables the rollout of diversified product packages and drives new growth in the B2B private line segment.
Hui Wang, Vice President of Huawei’s Data Communication Product Line, highlighted the significance of digital transformation in the global landscape. He noted that the Network Digital Map in Huawei iMaster NCE would assist XL Axiata in achieving network visualization, demarcation, and optimization.
The initiative is in line with Indonesia’s growing status as a key digital market in the Asia-Pacific region. The Network Digital Map’s capabilities include real-time network visualization, service SLA capacity checking and assurance, and incident-driven network auto-optimization. These features provide a clear view of network structure and performance, ensuring service quality and efficient resource utilization.
