Young Employee Alleges Assault by Local Thugs in Pattaya City

Pattaya: A young employee has come forward to the media, claiming he was attacked by a group of local thugs in Pattaya City, resulting in serious injuries. CCTV footage reportedly captured the incident.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ananda, who works at Soi Kopai in Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri Province, has filed a complaint following an assault by a group from the Sattahip area. He reported the incident to the investigation officer at Pattaya City Police Station after being attacked at his workplace.

Mr. Ananda recounted that on the day of the assault, a group of teenagers associated with gang activity in the Sattahip area arrived looking for his friends. When his friends were not present, the group attempted to confront him. Despite his attempts to avoid conflict by stating he was merely working, the group forcibly removed him from the shop. Outside, he was met by approximately seven others who attacked him, employing both physical violence and a machete to threaten him while he attempted to defend himself with a fruit knife. The attack left him with severe injuries, including a broken nose, cracked forehead, and a bruised eye socket causing temporary blindness.

The underlying cause of the attack, as explained by Mr. Ananda, was linked to a former intern named Mr. Jack. Mr. Jack had previously failed to secure a permanent position at the shop, which was instead offered to Mr. Ananda’s friend. This led to resentment from Mr. Jack, who believed Mr. Ananda took sides against him. Initially, Mr. Jack sought confrontation with Mr. Ananda’s friend, and despite Mr. Ananda’s attempts to intervene, the situation escalated. Mr. Jack’s group misinterpreted Mr. Ananda’s actions as allegiance to his friend, leading to multiple attempts to provoke a fight, culminating in the assault captured on CCTV.

The victim has requested police assistance in apprehending the perpetrators to ensure they are brought to justice promptly.
