20,000 young physicians volunteer for better community health


Up to 20,000 members of the Vietnam Young Physicians’ Association (VYPA) will participate in an annual volunteer campaign for the public wellbeing between now and October. The participants will be divided into four teams serving general medical check-ups, digital transformation work, screening for non-communicable diseases, and blood and organ donation activities. According to Nguyen Huu Tu, VYPA Vice Chairman and General Secretary, the campaign aims to provide direct medical consultations and examinations for over 100,000 people, its AI-based health screening expected to reach about 1 million individuals. The initiative will educate approximately 1 million youths on preventing non-communicable diseases and offer financial or medical assistance to at least 1,000 underprivileged people. The campaign also seeks to encourage 10,000 people to register for organ donation. This year, the programme, run by the Ho Chi Minh Youth Communist Union and VYPA for the 14th year, has the longest duration compared to previou
s editions.
