Bangkok: The border situation between Thailand and Cambodia remained calm overnight, with no clashes reported across seven provinces from 6:00 PM until this morning. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, the Government Spokesperson and member of the Committee of the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Administration (CCSA), announced at 7:00 a.m. today that the border areas have experienced a peaceful night.
According to Thai News Agency, from the evening of August 12, 2025, until this morning, there were no incidents of conflict along the Thai-Cambodian border in the affected provinces. The Thai military continues to maintain a strong presence in 11 strategic locations across these regions, prepared to respond to any breach of national sovereignty. Although Thailand is committed to adhering to the agreements established during the recent General Border Committee (GBC) meeting, there have been reports of serious violations of the ceasefire agreement and the Ottawa Accords by Cambodia.
The CCSA has issued guidance for returning citizens to report any suspicious objects to local authorities or police officers. These reports will be coordinated with bomb disposal units to ensure immediate action is taken.
