97.5% of beneficiaries get fuel cash aid in Southeast Sulawesi

The disbursement of fuel cash assistance (BLT BBM) to beneficiaries in Southeast Sulawesi has reached 97.5 percent, state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia has informed.

The total number of targeted beneficiaries in the province is 216,646, who are spread over 17 districts and cities, Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Office of PT Pos Indonesia Wildan Hamdani said here on Wednesday.

“The percentage of our BLT BBM disbursement realization as of October 31, 2022, has reached 97.5 percent of the target,” he added.

The number of beneficiaries who have received the aid is 211,228. Meanwhile, the number of beneficiaries who have not received the aid, including those with failed disbursement status, is 5,418.

According to Hamdani, the failed disbursement can be attributed to several factors, such as the beneficiaries moving from their domicile, working outside the city, or being economically capable.

In addition, failed disbursement status has also been accorded to beneficiaries who have become state apparatus (ASN) or members of the Indonesian Military (TNI) or National Police (Polri), or have died.

“Several descriptions for the failed disbursement include beneficiaries are outside the city or working outside the city; some have changed addresses and have died,” he informed.

Fuel cash assistance is one of the social assistance packages prepared by the government after diverting fuel subsidies.

The government has prepared a total budget of Rp12.4 trillion to provide fuel cash assistance to 20.65 million beneficiary families, which is being distributed through PT Pos Indonesia.

The aid program is seeking to provide each beneficiary family assistance of Rp150 thousand per month for a period of four months, with the disbursement conducted in two phases. Thus, each beneficiary family will receive Rp300 thousand in the first phase, which started in September, and another Rp300 thousand in the second phase in December.
