Prioritizing innovation and services remains the main focus of telemedicine at a time when consultations with doctors and health clinics are hampered due to space constraints, Alodokter co-founder and director Suci Arumsari has said.
The Alodokter telemedicine application continues to be of value in providing the best health services for the people of Indonesia, she said in a statement that ANTARA quoted here Thursday.
“We provide a variety of features that can meet the needs of the Indonesian people in terms of health solutions from upstream to downstream, ranging from consultations with doctors, health protection, to purchasing trusted medicines and health products that were needed during this pandemic,” Arumsari said.
Due to its passionate and user-focused business strategy, Alodokter has managed to attract more than 30 million active users every month, she informed. The number of users has increased 200 percent in the last two years, she added.
The positive growth of this business can be summarized in three key strategies that promote customer-centric values, she said.
Positioning the user’s point of view
The Alodokter journey began when founder Suci Arumsari was diagnosed with a rare spine condition. She said limitations on mobility and the lack of accurate information available on the Internet made her frustrated and she decided to find a solution to her problem.
She said she was motivated to innovate so that people would not experience difficulties she had.
She founded Alodokter in 2014 to help the Indonesian people get reliable medical services at affordable prices. Currently, Alodokter works with more than 43 thousand doctors and 1,500 hospitals and clinics spread across Indonesia.
Seeing technological innovation opportunities
One of the main reasons for Alodokter’s continued growth is its focus on user convenience, Arumsari said.
As a digital or telemedicine-based health platform, its ecosystem is strengthened with the support of the latest information technology and artificial intelligence (AI) innovations that match world standards, she informed.
The innovations have also been applied to the online and offline concept, which integrates features with the type of service required, she said.
Patients can directly consult general practitioners or specialists available through the chat feature in the application, she pointed out. If further medical action is required, patients can be directed to take an appointment for a direct consultation at a hospital or visit a laboratory of a healthcare facility, she said.
Collaboration
Amid the Industrial era 4.0 and an all-digital society, collaboration is key, and one strategy Alodokter has focused on is building synergy with digital payment services that facilitate user transaction processes, Arumsari said.
Such partnerships are part of Alodokter’s efforts to remain relevant to facilitate the needs of users, who are increasingly rely on digital payment services while making transactions, she added.
