“Am Cyanide” Sentenced to Death for Poisoning and Theft Case.

Bangkok: The Criminal Court has delivered a death sentence to “Am Cyanide” in a high-profile case involving poisoning and theft. Her ex-husband received a prison sentence of 1 year and 4 months, while “Lawyer Patch” was sentenced to 2 years in prison without probation. The court also ordered compensation of over 2 million baht to the victims.

According to Thai News Agency, the court hearing took place at the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road, where the verdict was announced against “Am Cyanide,” her ex-husband, a police officer, and lawyer Patch. They were charged with poisoning a friend using cyanide to steal property. The case was brought forward by the Office of the Attorney General 5 and the mother of the deceased, who sought 30 million baht in damages.

During the trial, it was revealed that ‘Am Cyanide’ did not exhibit any distress or attempt to assist her friend, ‘Koi,’ when the incident occurred at a pier. Instead, she left the scene, displaying a premeditated intent. Cyanide was found in high co
ncentrations in Koi’s blood, stomach, and liver, leading to her death.

Expert testimony indicated that the victim was poisoned while in the car, with symptoms manifesting before she exited the vehicle. Additionally, ‘Am’ was found to have concealed and stolen the victim’s belongings, including an LV bag and phone, rather than alerting family members or authorities.

Evidence presented in court included the presence of blue capsules and cyanide poison in ‘Am’s’ car, as well as purchase orders and delivery photos of cyanide. Financial troubles also linked ‘Am’ to significant debts and suspicious transfers to online gambling mule accounts, implicating her in multiple deaths during her indebtedness.

Pol. Lt. Col. Witun, the second defendant, was accused of complicity, with the court rejecting claims of coercion in his statement. The consistency in statements among the co-defendants led to his conviction. Meanwhile, Lawyer Patch, the third defendant, was found guilty of obstructing justice by advising ‘Am’ to co
nceal evidence.

The court concluded that the defense’s arguments were insufficient to counter the evidence. As a result, “Am Cyanide” was sentenced to death. Her ex-husband’s sentence was reduced due to his cooperation, and Lawyer Patch received a 2-year sentence.

The family of the deceased expressed relief and joy at the verdict, while ‘Am’ remained expressionless, showing no visible signs of remorse.
