Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, conducted an inspection of the collapsed Samsen Road area late on October 20, underscoring the importance of safety. He instructed the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and associated agencies to formulate a comprehensive operational plan and maintain continuous monitoring of the surrounding structures.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister visited the site at 10:00 PM to assess the progress of repairs and receive briefings from civil engineers and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officials. The discussions focused on the road repair strategies, which include the demolition of the Samsen Metropolitan Police Station building.
Mr. Anutin highlighted the necessity of prioritizing safety throughout each phase of the repair process. He insisted that the road must be completely safe before reopening. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and relevant agencies were tasked with developing a detailed operational plan and ensuring ongoing surveillance of the nearby buildings to prevent further incidents.
