Anutin Stresses Adherence to Forgiveness Amid Thaksin’s Departure

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and a prospective candidate for the position of the 32nd Prime Minister, emphasized the importance of forgiveness over anger as he addressed the departure of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Anutin highlighted his commitment to law enforcement and the avoidance of conflict and hatred in his approach to governance.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin reiterated his father’s teaching that “being angry a hundred times is not as good as forgiving once,” urging confidence that Thaksin will leave the country and that the law will be fully enforced without bias. Anutin assured that there would be no assistance, harassment, revenge, or escalation of conflict and hatred under his leadership. He stressed that his administration would adhere strictly to the rule of law, ensuring that all actions are governed by legal principles rather than personal grievances.

Anutin explained that despite any past wrongs, misunderstandings, or unfair treatments, his focus remains on maintaining peace and justice. He assured the cabinet of his commitment to these principles, emphasizing that the administration’s actions would not involve bullying or seeking revenge. “Today, we are here. We will not escalate conflict or resentment,” he stated, underscoring his belief in the value of forgiveness as a guiding principle in leadership.
