Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister, expressed his lack of concern regarding the recent petition filed by Pheu Thai Party MPs. The petition, submitted to the House Speaker, calls for the Constitutional Court to examine whether a Memorandum of Understanding (MOA) signed between the Bhumjaithai Party and the People’s Party constitutes political party domination and interference for the purpose of exchanging benefits. Anutin maintained that the actions taken were within legal rights.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin clarified that the proposal and agreement between the Bhumjaithai Party and the People’s Party mirrored those presented by the Pheu Thai Party before the Prime Ministerial election. At that time, the Pheu Thai Party suggested that if the People’s Party supported Chaikasem Nitisiri, its prime ministerial candidate, the House would be dissolved immediately. Anutin emphasized that the People’s Party and Pheu Thai would need more than an MOA, given Pheu Thai’s history of broken promises. He stated that this issue should be directed towards Pheu Thai.
