Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the newly elected Prime Minister of Thailand, expressed his readiness to tackle the nation’s pressing challenges as he thanked supporters for their confidence in his leadership. Anutin, who was recently voted in as the 32nd Prime Minister, emphasized the urgency of addressing problems and recouping lost opportunities.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin made his first public address at his party headquarters following a House of Representatives meeting. He extended gratitude to the public for their vote of confidence, highlighting the people’s voice as echoed through their MPs, including those from the People’s Party and other supporting political parties. Anutin acknowledged Chaikasem Nitisiri’s role in the prime ministerial election and expressed hope for a smooth transition of power. He urged collaborative efforts to propel Thailand forward and recover lost ground, though he refrained from detailing specific policy measures.
Anutin also shared personal reflections on his visit to his father, Chawarat Charnvirakul, who has been hospitalized. He noted this visit as a priority following his election, indicating the personal significance of the moment without disclosing his father’s blessings.
