AP II sets up monitoring posts at 20 airports

State-run airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) has set up Christmas and New Year monitoring posts at 20 airports, which will remain operational from December 19, 2022, to January 3, 2023.

The posts have been assigned key performance indicators (KPIs) in the operational and services areas, president director of AP II, Muhammad Awaluddin, informed in a statement released here on Tuesday.

“The KPIs of the posts in all AP II airports are to maintain standards in the operational and service areas amid increasing flight traffic. The posts have been opened to maintain human resources’ performance, infrastructures on air and land, and keep various procedures running,” he said.

According to him, the monitoring posts will serve as centers for AP II and airport stakeholders to coordinate and collaborate in supporting safe, comfortable, and healthy travel during Christmas and New Year.

Awaluddin said that the posts will have three main tasks, with the first being carrying out monitoring and inspections to ensure that aspects of security, safety, service, and health run well.

Second, the posts will serve as data monitoring posts and map the trend of air traffic every day. Third, they will prepare mitigation measures to prevent and handle issues that could disrupt airport services and operations.

Collaboration among stakeholders should be improved to maintain the standard of services, director of commercial and services at AP II, M. Rizal Pahlevi, said.

“Through the posts, stakeholders can increase coordination and collaboration to ensure that the services are maintained,” he added.

Meanwhile, director of operations at AP II, Muhamad Wasid, said that the monitoring posts at the 20 AP II airports would ensure the smooth operation of flights during the Christmas and New Year period amid the high traffic.
