Army Area 1 and Sa Kaeo Province Return Safe Land to Ban Nong Ya Kaeo Residents

Sa kaeo: The Army Area 1, in collaboration with Sa Kaeo Province, has successfully returned a safe area to the residents of Ban Nong Ya Kaeo, covering two plots totaling 28 rai. Additionally, efforts are underway to clear landmines in Ban Nong Chan, with gratitude extended to volunteers aiding the military mission.

According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Worayot Leungsuwan, Commander of the 1st Army Region and Commander of the 1st Army Area Command Center, visited the Sa Kaeo border alongside Mr. Parinya Phothisat, Governor of Sa Kaeo Province. They monitored the progress of demining operations in Ban Nong Chan, aiming to create a safe environment for residents and secure their livelihoods and farmland. The area is currently under survey, requiring careful consideration to ensure the demining team operates effectively while safeguarding residents.

Furthermore, the Commander of Army Area 1 and his team traveled to Ban Nong Ya Kaeo to supervise the area’s safety clearance, accompanied by the Governor of Sa Kaeo Province. During this visit, they handed over 14 rai of secure farmland to Mrs. Sompong Petchjit, Plot 55, and another 14 rai to Mr. Sompong Wongchomphu.

The Commander also engaged with local residents, including supporters of the military personnel and representatives from various social assistance foundations involved in supporting the army’s mission. He expressed gratitude for the trust and backing from the community, which has been a significant source of motivation for the army to continue its protective role.

In a gesture of appreciation, the army supported local businesses by funding villagers to prepare and share lunch with the military personnel. This initiative not only expressed gratitude but also helped boost local incomes and stimulate the local economy. The First Army Region remains committed to safeguarding Thailand and ensuring the sustainable return of land to the people in border areas.
