Arrest of “Bang Yan”, leader of a migrant worker trafficking gang

Immigration Bureau arrests ‘Bang Yan’, leader of a network of migrant workers across borders, and also finds that this network is involved in 3 previous cases of migrant workers being arrested.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Itthiphon Itthisarnchai, Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, and relevant officials announced the results of the arrest of Mr. Safyan or Bangyan, aged 24, according to an arrest warrant from the Songkhla Provincial Court on charges of aiding, hiding, or assisting in any way to allow an alien who entered the Kingdom in violation of the Immigration Act to escape arrest.

The arrest was made in the area of ??Ban Padalanga, Tambon Pulo Puyo, Amphoe Nong Chik, Pattani Province. This arrest was a result of the arrest on November 21, 2013, when officials arrested 19 Bangladeshi migrant workers who were illegally entering the country, along with two assistants, in Songkhla Province.

After that, the arrest was expanded and it was found that Mr. Sufyan or Bangyan was the person behind this crime. Until the o
fficers were able to arrest him in the village.

For Mr. Sufyan or Bangyan, he is considered an important person in the order to transport illegal Bangladeshi migrant workers from Cambodia through Thailand to Malaysia via natural channels. He has 2 arrest warrants for the above-mentioned offenses. He will be responsible for coordinating with brokers in neighboring countries to arrange vehicles to transport 15-20 migrant workers at a time from the northern region to the southern region along the route until they reach the employers who want to use illegal workers in Malaysia. It took several months for officials to collect evidence before they could identify the person.

It was also found that this network was involved in 3 cases of illegal aliens being brought into the country, in which immigration officers had already arrested them. They were able to prosecute 62 offenders from the beginning to the end, 10 Thais and 52 foreigners. They seized 8 vehicles used in the crimes and sent them for prosecution.
