Songkhla: An observer delegation from eight ASEAN countries arrived at Khao Phra Wihan in Sisaket Province to receive information on events on the Thai-Cambodian border and to investigate Cambodia’s violation of the ceasefire agreement. The army confirmed that Thailand remains committed to upholding the ceasefire agreement and adhering to international humanitarian law.
According to Thai News Agency, a temporary observer delegation from eight ASEAN member states has arrived at the Khao Phra Wihan National Park meeting room in Sao Thong Chai Subdistrict, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province. After receiving information about the incident, the delegation will study the actual situation to ensure the international community receives comprehensive information and fosters understanding of peaceful resolutions. The Royal Thai Army reaffirms its commitment to upholding the ceasefire agreement, adhering to international humanitarian law, and focusing on peaceful border resolution.
In the afternoon, the observer team will travel to Kritsana Base (Phumakhuea) to inspect the new PMN-2 mine laying on the Cambodian side, which resulted in injuries to Thai soldiers on August 9th, and to observe the coordinates of the newly laid mines.
