Assistant Commissioner-General Directs Enhanced Traffic Measures at Bangkok Schools.

Bangkok: The Assistant Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police conducted an inspection of traffic operations near schools in Bangkok, emphasizing the importance of efficient traffic management and urging cooperation from parents and students to alleviate congestion.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Korchai Klaiklueng, Assistant Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, visited the areas in front of St. Gabriel’s School and St. Francis Xavier Convent School on Samsen Road in the Wachira Phayaban Subdistrict, Dusit District. Accompanied by Pol. Col. Chirakrit Charunphat, Deputy Commander of the Traffic Police Division, and other relevant personnel, the inspection aimed to assess and improve traffic flow during peak school hours.

During the visit, Pol. Lt. Gen. Korchai evaluated the efforts of Samsen Police Station and the Traffic Police Division in managing traffic near the schools. He engaged with teachers, parents, and students to discuss existing traffic challenges and outline the current op
erations. He acknowledged the joint efforts of the police and educational institutions in facilitating smooth traffic flow and stressed the necessity for the police to continue maximizing their efforts to ensure students’ swift and safe arrival at school.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Korchai appealed to parents to minimize parking durations when dropping off students, encouraging them to prepare their children for immediate drop-off upon reaching the school. This initiative is part of the ‘park, get off, drop off’ principle aimed at reducing traffic congestion. Following the school inspections, Pol. Lt. Gen. Korchai proceeded on a Royal Project Traffic Police motorcycle to examine traffic operations and routes from the school area to Rama I Road, noting heavy traffic on some routes but commending stationed officers for their role in mitigating congestion.
