Bangkok: The 18-year-old short-leg football tournament, “Department of Physical Education-Daily News Cup 2025,” saw thrilling semi-final matches as Assumption Thonburi and Suankularb Wittayalai School secured their spots in the final. Both teams will compete for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in the under-18 inter-school sports competition for the academic year 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, the first semi-final match at Supachalasai Stadium featured defending champions Assumption Thonburi, known as “Little Boss,” against Bangkok Christian College’s “Chongkhomuangthong.” Assumption Thonburi initially took the lead with a goal by Phurinat Phulukamlang in the 19th minute. Bangkok Christian College equalized with a shot from Aryan Samratbos in the 28th minute, ending the first half at 1-1. The match appeared destined for a penalty shootout until Danupol Bubpha’s stunning free kick in the 90+2 minute secured a 2-1 victory for Assumption Thonburi, allowing them to advance to the final.

In the second semi-final, Debsirin School’s “Luk Mae Rampei” faced off against Suankularb Wittayalai School’s “Pink-Blue.” The first half was a tense 0-0 draw, but the match heated up in the closing minutes. Suankularb Wittayalai took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Phurinat Thongyuan in the 90+1 minute. Debsirin equalized with a headed goal by Russky Kader in the 90+5 minute, forcing a 1-1 draw at full-time. The match proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Suankularb Wittayalai triumphed with a 4-3 score (5-4 on aggregate), clinching their place in the final.

The final match between Assumption Thonburi and Suankularb Wittayalai School is scheduled for August 29, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Supachalasai Stadium, promising an exciting conclusion to the tournament.
