Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin urged the management of Ben Mboi Central General Hospital (RSUP) of Kupang to maintain its quality of medical and non-medical services.

At the soft launch of Ben Mboi RSUP in Manulai II Village, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, Thursday, Sadikin said, the hospital’s management should ensure that medical services run well and that doctors, nurses, and other staff can serve patients and visitors well.

In addition, the hospital’s management must pay attention to non-medical services, such as parking.

“There should be no messy and irregular parking,” he remarked.

According to the minister, the hospital environment must be maintained to be visually appealing, clean, and comfortable.

“This hospital must be transformed as well as possible and must be kept clean, so that those who come for treatment feel like being in a mall,” he stated.

The minister also suggested planting shady trees in the environment of Ben Mboi Hospital.

“I said earlier that I want to see big monkey pod trees in this hospital,” he remarked.

Ben Mboi General Hospital in Kupang was constructed with a budget of around Rp350 billion.

Sadikin said that the largest hospital in East Nusa Tenggara must provide complete health services like other central general hospitals, so that residents do not need to travel far to get appropriate medical treatment.

Earlier, the government allocated 18 hectares of land area for the construction of RSUP. The large area is where the hospital’s main building stands, including supporting buildings, green open spaces, dormitory, official houses, and educational and training facilities.

The hospital has four floors, with a concept of green building. The first phase of construction encompassed bed facilities consisting of outpatient and inpatient service, emergency departments, operating rooms, and services for general practice, cardiology, nursery, laboratory, radiology, obstetrics, medical rehabilitation, airport services, and several others.
